What – London Technology Week Workshop, Designing a Better Digital Workplace

When – 8.30am – 10:30 GMT, Tuesday 21 June 2016

Where – Etc. Venues, 51-53 Hatton Garden, London EC1N 8HN

“Good design matters. It can drive internal efficiency and productivity including staff engagement,” said Perks. “Design, if done well, can make things easier to use, consistent, and better integrated with other systems and tools.”

“If the benefits of good design appear obvious, why do so many businesses struggle to invest internally in design? With internal communications projects being the exception to the rule, few are as confident when explaining how design can help simplify complex business processes or improve how staff collaborate,” says Perks.

Digital workplaces that connect all parts of your business are becoming an essential platform to help companies grow, bringing together networks of colleagues, tools, content and knowledge all into a single environment. Having a well-designed digital workplace can be the crucial difference between your employees adopting this new technology and leaving it to decline.

PANDORA is renowned for its clean, contemporary branding, but does good branding translate to an internal digital workplace? Morten Dal, Global Intranet Manager at PANDORA will join us to discuss the importance design played in their new intranet, the role it took in shaping not only the look and feel, but also the way the project was built, staged and implemented.

This workshop will take you through how design, if done well, can make your digital workplace stronger, enhancing employee engagement, productivity and collaboration. With best practice examples, interactive discussions and practical tips, you’ll leave with the knowledge to ensure your digital workplace succeeds.

Katy Smith Marketing Manager

Katy’s role may not be customer facing, but her work is usually what new clients see first. If it’s beautifully presented, informative, and has a BrightStarr logo on it, she’s normally had a hand in it. Her role is broad, but Katy is a determined go-getter who makes things happen. She looks after the marketing team in the UK, marketing strategy for both sides of the Atlantic, and develops both the BrightStarr and Unily brands. Tactically, that means her team controls everything from ensuring the site comes up in internet search results, to the look and feel of your consultant’s business card. Katy came from a fashion background, obtaining her degree from Leeds University and via interning at a major women’s magazine, and now applies that same finesse to the BrightStarr brand identity.
