We are very excited to have had another one of our SharePoint Intranet solutions selected by industry thought leaders the Nielsen Norman Group as one of the top 10 Intranet designs, based upon its exceptional UX and its deeply innovative approach to digital collaboration. This is the third Nielsen Norman Best Intranet Design Award BrightStarr has been awarded in the past four years, including everything everywhere in 2012 and Abt Associates in 2014. At BrightStarr we firmly believe that the only way to drive real return on investment from any digital solution is through high user adoption, and this means having a user-centric approach to solution design. We strive for the perfect balance of form and factor so that our clients are not only providing the tools required to improve staff productivity or business efficiency, but are also providing solutions that their users will love.
ConocoPhillips, the world's largest independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company based on production and proved reserves, initiated their SharePoint Intranet project due to the fragmented nature of their previous site, which formed silos of information under an outdated navigational structure. Senior leadership wanted to empower staff with the effective digital tools that would not only support their work, but also support leadership initiatives and brand positioning.
Their new SharePoint Intranet 'The Mark' was an innovative solution focused on delivering improved accessibility to information within the Intranet, alongside greater collaboration and awareness of corporate vision for success. A core feature that distinguished ‘The Mark’ was the new navigation. Unlike more traditional navigation formats, ConocoPhillips opted for a concise three item menu, from which all content could be navigated. (Screenshot below). This in combination with powerful SharePoint 2013 search made for less silos of information and vastly improved user experience. Access to content was taken to the next level through the inclusion of responsive design, which has made content accessible through any device, while maintaining quality user experiences across all screen sizes. The combination of power and exceptional usability made it stand out in the Nielsen Intranet design awards.
Having the right digital tools is essential to success in the modern digital business and BrightStarr is committed to making this achievable for all enterprises, without compromising on quality design or user experience.
