dorma+kaba Group is the world's leading provider of ground-breaking solutions in the fast-growing security and access solutions industry. Employing 16,000 people in more than 50 countries, it needed a new platform to help a diverse team drive innovation from within.
Our Intranet-as-a-Service product, Unily Hub, was chosen to quickly deliver a complete digital workplace solution with seamless social integration for essential international communication and collaboration. From 0-100 in just 6 weeks, dorma+kaba was able to launch the solution at its annual global conference, driving rapid adoption from employees who immediately connected with its vision for the intranet.
Unily Hub’s deeply engrained social capabilities have provided a brand new platform for disparate employees to connect, communicate, and drive new business ideas. The intranet allows staff to come together to share best practices, contribute towards an internal knowledge pool, and deliver up-to-the-minute insights to team members and colleagues, wherever they are in the world from whatever device.
The intranet offers un-paralleled multi-lingual and personalization functionality, providing a localized intranet experience for the global workforce. Users only see news and information that is relevant to the job they do and they see it in the language they speak. This has dramatically improved the engagement levels among remote workers who were previously alienated.
Unily’s model allows us to continue to work hand-in-hand with dorma+kaba to drive value from its solution, and adoption has grown and grown as a result. Whether it’s guiding teams through new functionality rolled out from the roadmap or finding new ways to drive productivity and refine governance, the digital workplace will continue to deliver.
dorma+kaba chose our home grown intranet product, Unily Hub, as the platform for their new digital workplace, allowing them to rapidly deploy a top-of-the-line, social solution in just 6 weeks, in time for crucial upcoming events. Built on Microsoft Azure and integrated with the best of Office 365 including SharePoint Online, Yammer, OneDrive for Business and Skype for Business, Unily Hub presented a single intranet experience that helped drive engagement among dorma+kaba’s diverse employee base. With an intuitive, beautifully designed, and completely branded solution, employees were able to engage and utilize the platform as soon as it went live with minimal training.
The new design focuses on creating a cohesive digital workplace where employees can connect, collaborate, innovate, and drive new business ideas. Personalization and targeting functionality ensures only the most relevant information reaches the right users based on their location and interests. Through a custom Content Management System, the process of creating new content is simple and quick for all users, requiring no support from IT.
Unily Hub’s comprehensive customer success program enables dorma+kaba's new platform to evolve as they grow thanks to services such as support teams, ongoing consultancy to drive effective governance and adoption, and a customer-led roadmap of features to come.

In just 60 days, the intranet team created a global, social intranet in advance of two large company events. The combination of the impending events and the introduction of social tools created the perfect equation for intranet success, with the events acting as natural drivers for social content creation and conversation on the site. The events, combined with strong support from management, have made the global company’s shift to a social intranet notably smooth and well-received.
